Toyota Hilux GR Sport: A Rally-Inspired Pickup with Dakar DNA
Toyota has unveiled a new version of its popular HiLux pickup truck, the HiLux GR Sport , which combines rally-inspired performance and style with off-road capability. The HiLux GR Sport is the first model in Australia to wear the GR badge, which stands for GAZOO Racing , Toyota's global motorsport division. The Toyota HiLux GR Sport is based on the HiLux SR5 double-cab 4x4 but features a number of enhancements to boost its power, handling, and appearance. The most notable upgrade is the 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which delivers 221 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, a 10% increase over the standard HiLux. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that has sportier tuning and paddle shifters for more control.
